We recently visited the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

We were quite surprised at how large, modern and hip the museum is! It is so inspiring! We felt pride in Harley - a beloved American-made hometown product.

People from all around the world come to visit. A big group of cross-country Harley riders (including a priest!) arrived right when we did.

In fact, we were surprised at how many people were there. We went at 10 am on a Monday morning. It was not annoyingly crowded but it definitely had a healthy amount of people. I took this as a sign that others also are inspired by this museum! It is a great destination.

We opted to do the audio tour for $4 per person (plus museum entry fees). It was well worth it. We learned so much. The museum has little yellow tags with numbers on many of their displays. You enter the number into your device and listen to a short summary about that particular display or room. This is especially nice because you do not need to move in a specific order. You can pick and choose what you listen to.

I learned on my tour that this is one of the most valuable bikes on display. THE ORIGINAL Harley Davidson and the very first motorcycle in the world!

From the start, Harley has also been very wise about keeping at least one of each model of their motorcycles every year since their inception. They are ALL on display at this museum! It is so fun to see the changes through the years

My kids not only learned about the history of the company - they learned about the history of our country too!

I witnessed love at first sight when this little guy sat on this bike in the kids’ area.. I think Harley Davidson just created a new future customer. He also listened to EVERY SINGLE tutorial on the tour. He was enraptured.

Speaking of enraptured, I loved this poster. There is so much pride in this company and city.

And both boys learned about Evel Kneivel for the first time! They also learned about engines, and design, and the war and Rosie the Riveters, Milwaukee and so much more.

We also toured the beautiful grounds.

And hit the gift shop.

I loved these sweaters so much. They are remakes of the originals. Is it too early to start a Christmas wish list?

We would definitely recommend visiting this museum! It draws people from all over the world. There is a fabulous restaurant on site and a lovely view of the river. Plan on a half day or so. They are open 365 days a year! To learn more visit their website here.
