This photo is the current state of the room. Within the next month - there will be whitewashed hardwood floors, white trim and doors & our king sized bed)
We still need to buy a dresser and a big fat amazing pendant light so it really is a blank slate!
The wall behind the bed has great potential for wallpaper. This room really is a blank slate! I'd like it to feel relaxing & serene...
Maybe light puffy clouds on the wall behind the bed with the dandelion pendant light in the middle of the room (next to the beam)? Or a cloud ceiling?
Or something black and white..
A foggy scene?
OR Maybe cool textured wallpaper would be a good way to highlight the unique layout of the walls in this room... Like this tall wall and maybe the spaces above the doors (doors will be white!) OR the spaces around the doors. A statement! It could pair really well with that dandelion chandelier I love. The brown (soon to be white) door on the left goes to the bathroom which will eventually have a black and white graphic tiled floor.
There is also a hallway upstairs that is the main connection for all of the rooms. It will be a high traffic area that would be really fun to play with. It has two sides so it could be cool to do the same thing on both sides..
I envision the hallway either graphic or whimsical!
Some graphic ideas:
I once directed a project called the Art Walls at a local luxury mall. I chose all of the art and photographed it. This background behind me in this photo was created by a friend. Something like this could be really cool in that hallway! The two upstairs bathrooms are going to be black and white so it'd tie in.
Some whimsical ideas:
I wonder what it would look like to take my art through a "sketch" filter so it looks more like a drawing and try that as wallpaper..
The third and final location idea is my new office!
This is what the office looks like now. I have to take out all of the built in cabinets. I am a professional photographer and I get a lot of client visits. I want to have a desk in the middle of the room so we can face each other. I also want examples of my art hanging on the walls... So this will also be a blank slate!
So maybe a patterned wall that allows my work to pop on the walls? Or use the art itself as wallpaper!?
